Passengers are conveyed subject to and in terms of our standard conditions of carriage notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary


a. No passenger will allowed on the coaches without a ticket.
b. Ticket cannot be transferred and can only be used for the journey indicate.
c. Passengers will therefore require new ticket if they choose to deviate from the destination intended on the ticket they hold.
d. The ticket is proof of the agreement of transport between Big Tree Coaches the purchaser of the ticket and the passenger
e. The accompanying terms and conditions are the entire agreement between the passenger and Big Tree Coaches


a. Big Tree Coaches does not provide insurance cover for its passengers/luggage, it’s the responsibility of the passenger to ensure she/he is insured.


a. Pensioner-2%.
b. Student-2%.
c. Childern (Age 3 to 5)-6.5% and (Age 6 to 12)-6.5%.
d. Infant on the lap-Free


a. All fares can be changed without notice/anytime. Big Tree Coaches will only be bound by the fare charged upon the purchase ticket.


Passengers may request to cancel their ticket before secheduled departure. Passengers who cancel their trips 72 hours before scheduled will be entitled to their full paid the ticket, less 20% cancellation fees.
Passengers who cancel their trips less than 72 hours before departure will not be intitled to a refund but a voucher for travel on another date which is valid for two months, such voucher a worth 50% of the original ticket value.
Passengers will bear any addition price changes that may occur between the cancellation and the rebooking periods. Passengers who cancel their trip 12 hours before scheduled departure time will forfeit the purchased ticket and entitled to no refund or re-travel voucher


a. All passengers are required to be at the departure point 30 minutes before the departure time show on the ticket. Any seat not filled within 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time may be offered for sale to a standby passengers.
b. No passenger will be allowed to book a ticket at one station and board at another. The bus will not stop at any undesignated stop to load and/or off load passengers.
e. If a passenger misses the bus, no rebooking or refund will be granted.


a. All passengers must have their tickets prior to boarding. Passengers with lost who arrive for check-in time 30 minutes before departure may not be allowed to board.
b. Passenger with lost a ticket must make arrangements prior to board unless they are able provide sufficient information to all online tracking of their, they may not be allowed to board.
e. If a passenger misses the bus, no rebooking or refund will be granted.


a. Every passenger above 12 years will be permitted do carry two of lugguge of not more than 25kg in total. Any luggage above 25kg will have R10 extra cash addition.
b. Big Tree Coaches reserves the right to convey any luggage that it considers dangerous to the safety of the bus crew, the bus, other passengers and their belonging. It is the duty of the passenger to enquire whether particular luggage will be conveyed prior to purchasing a ticket
c. Unaccompanied luggage will not be accepted for transportation
d. Big Tree Coaches will not be held responsible for any loss or damaged baggage or any loss of personal items or valuables.
e. Passenger must not include valuable/breakable/perishable/irreplaceable items in luggage to be accrued at rest stop or any or any other stop. It is the passengers responsibility to ensure the safety and security of their luggage.


No smoking or consumption of alcohol is allowed on Big Tree Coaches, passengers may not request smoke breaks outside allocated stop and evidently intoxicated passengers will not allowed to board our buses.
No refund will be allowed to passengers who are not allowed to board our buses as the result of intoxication.


a. No pets will be allowed on our buses, Special exceptions may be made for guard dogs under the discretion of management.


Whilst Big Tree Coaches will make all reasonable effort to keep to its scheduled timetables, it does not guarantee any arrival or departure times, and it does accept any loss or damage incurred by any passenger, or inconvience experiered by any person, due delay or cancellation of any service for whatever reason.
In the event of breakdowns,Big Tree Coaches will dispatch mechanics who will endeavour to repair to the coaches. Big Tree Coaches may however provide an alternative transport means not later than 6 hours form the breakdown.
In the event passengers seek alternative transport because of delay in repairs or non-arrival of the coaches, Big Tree Coaches shall effect any refunds, we shall issue travel vouchers for re-travel be redeemed within 3 months. Passengers will pay additional fees if applicable.



a. Payment may be made via Visa and MasterCard


a. Card transactions will be acquired for Big Tree Coaches via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to to view their security certificate and security policy.


a. Customer details will be stored by Big Tree Coaches separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to


a. The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).


a. Big Tree Coaches will takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.


a. This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Big Tree Coaches chooses as its domicilium citadel et executant for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature.


a. Big Tree Coaches may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.



Big Tree Coaches will make every effort to keep the current published timetable, but services may be affected by road, weather or other conditions beyond Big Tree Coaches control. Big Tree Coaches will therefore not accept liability for any costs incurred by passengers under such circumstances. Big Tree Coaches makes every effort to ensure connections between its services where appropriate. However, no liability can be accepted for loss or damage caused by any failure to make these connections or perceived to exist with other transport operations. Big Tree Coaches reserves the right to revise seat allocations without prior notice and to operate substitute vehicles of the same standard. Big Tree Coaches reserves the right to cancel any of its services for whatever reason without notice. Under no circumstances will any liability be accepted for losses incurred by pre-booked passengers. Reimbursement in such an event would apply, however.
Any claims relating to service quality will be considered no later than 15 days from the date of travel.
Please ensure you are in possession of a valid ticket to your destination
Please ensure you have a valid cash receipt for tickets issued on route and receipts for any form of payment made by you to the driver or consultant.
Should you be found on board without a valid ticket or receipt you will be penalized or liable for the cost of the ticket plus 50% of the value of the ticket or you will be asked to leave the coach at the nearest safe stop.
